ADULTERY

Consensual sexual relations between a married person and someone other than the married person's spouse.  In some states, adultery is considered a crime, however, people are rarely prosecuted for it.  Adultery is sufficient grounds for divorce in most states.  In addition, some states may alter the distribution of property between the divorcing spouses, giving less to the adulterer.
